This book idea was conceived as I was listening to an audio version of Napoleon Hill's classic book "Think and Grow Rich." He made a comment that when he was contracted to interview, study and write about Andrew Carnegie the purpose was to develop a new philosophy on success. Well, I realized in that moment that we need a new philosophy on raising our children. We need ways to help release their brilliance in this modern world. Too many of them are crippled psychologically and emotionally from the experiences of single parent families, high divorce rates, poor education systems, social and cultural pressure, media influences, etc.
This is a book about self-leadership as a foundation for a new philosophy for developing people in this time of change. I believe self-leadership is the foundation of all leadership. However, as I began writing, it became clear this work is bigger than just a philosophy for developing youth. It's a philosophy for living life more fully that applies to all adults - parents, leaders, managers, employees, teachers, counselors, entertainers, athletes, and coaches. You are holding a blueprint for powerful development of all people at any stage of life.
