Weekly TIPS for Helping you Grow your Speaking Business
Monday, November 24th 2008 @ 4:42 PM

A speaking business is like any other business, you must feed it, nurture it and spend time brainstorming on ways to grow it.
TIP #1: Join your local Chamber of Commerce
Yes, it can be a pretty hefty price but you can make your money back by reserving one of the conference rooms at your chamber for a paid seminar. One of my coaching clients, joined her local chamber, created a paid seminar charging $30 per person and rented out a room at no cost from the chamber which more than made her money back. Plus, the Chamber refers her to local companies that call about speakers. It's a win-win!
Tip #2: Send out an ezine at least bi monthly or monthly
As a speaker this is your clientele, one of my coaching clients sends out her ezine every two weeks and always gets inquiries about her services. According to statistics if a potential customer hears fom you at last 7 times via email they will buy from you because they trust you!
Tip #3: Have you considered speaking for the seminar companies?
I've spoken for three to date and learned so many things that helped me run my speaking business better.
I learned how to sell from the platform, how to speak all day and keep an audience engaged, how to travel like a crazy woman (at one time, I had 20 speaking engagements per month), how to market, and I further defined my expertise, I have at least 60 resources from the seminar companies for free, plus so much more..etc. Plan to attend my FREE teleseminar on how to get booked with the seminar companies and get paid and learn at the same time, click here to reserve your spot
Until next week,
Happy Thanksgiving
