Have you learned your lesson yet?

Friday, July 11th @ 9:08 AMpost viewed 88 times

Have you ever felt like aspects of your life are just like the Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day? Except it is not a day, it’s a month, a year or a kind of relationship that just seems to keep repeating itself.

Groundhog day has happened many times to me, and for me it is the kind of relationships I find my self in. But for you it might be something completely different, a job, a life style, the way you always stick your foot in your mouth (I have done that a million times too), it could be anything.

If you are anything like me, it looks like it will be different at first, you get all excited, you dream about how things will be…and then something happens and brings everything into perspective and you realize that you are going through the same thing yet again. Bummer.

And then all the emotions the confusion the feelings of failure and stupidity, how did this happen again? All you can say to your self is that in your heart of hearts you want things to be different, and are trying and you wish there was some kind of tried and true method that could help you out.

Good news, there is.

You want to know what is going on? It is the way of the world; you will repeat the same cycles until you learn the lesson that they are meant to teach – whatever they may be – sorry I cannot be clearer. But here his how you learn your lesson and start making progress in a different direction.

1) Spend time by yourself -- thinking about why you choose to enter into the same kinds of relationships, over eat or accept jobs that are not going to work you to your fullest potential. Why? Because these lessons have little to do with the other people and all to do with you and why you make the decisions you make.

2) Be observant – notice patterns, yeah but it looks different at first – does it really? Think about it there are similar patterns that you are repeating all the time which lead you down the same path so start noticing those patterns and you will start being able to avoid the pit falls before they start.

3) Move on – don’t dwell too long get back into the game and start practicing your new incite and see where it brings you. Look this is not a life liposuction where everything is fixed all at once, so you will continue to make the same mistakes but now you will make them in a different way which will help your progress toward not re-living the same scenario over and over again.

People, life is meant to be explored and for you to learn from, so if you feel like you are living the same day over and over again until you get it right, when you use these tips you will be on your way to living life as you were meant to in no time.

I would love to hear your stories and thoughts.

Living Regret Free -- on purpose

Friday, July 4th @ 8:57 AMpost viewed 87 times

Have you ever said to yourself - boy if I had that to do over again I would do it so different. Most of us have said that at one time or another and it is natural to look back over life and realize missed opportunities and reflect on the things we would have done different.

However, it is not okay for you to dwell on those moments and let them hold you back from being all that you were designed to be.

Regret free living is not something that just happens by mistake... you have to live it on purpose.

Want to know where you start? Well start right now and make up your mind to live a life that you will be completely satisfied with.

Look, you are not going to get it perfect - none of us do, but it is on purpose that we decide to go after the things we truly desire and accept the mishaps when they come.

Start right now and do one thing for yourself that will get you closer to a goal or desire. One thing that is all and you are doing it for yourself - who better to do it for?

"You don't have to be great to start just start to be great." - Joe Saba

Start to be great!

Peace

I agree totally Jessica!  Great blog!  Each outcome starts in our mind.  Making a decision and then having a hourly thought check (are my thoughts in line with my decision to change) can get you started on the right track.  Your thoughts turn into your actions which become your future. I think that is a great philosophy. Living life on purpose for some is a minute by minute decision.
The choices we make in life culminate into the state of our present and eventually our future. What do we really want? Where do we truly want to be. We must begin to take stock of these answers and then make choices that will suppport reaching our destiny. Many of us do not live life to the fullest because of fear. Fear of failure is one but I have also seen where fear of success can keep us from moving into the calling on our lives. The changes and adjustments necessary, that would normally speak of growth become inconveniences thus hurdles making our moving on and up a diffucult task . This is where most of our dreams are left abondon and our purpose derailed and a lost of our joy.
Finding purpose is key. Maintaining a lifestyle that will enable you to fulfill your purpose becomes your life task. When you submerge yourself into your life task you find You!
